According to report, they both faced a Ugandan court on Monday after being charged with “Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases.”
This was disclosed by the Ugandan police in a social media statement on Monday afternoon. They tweeted,
“The Nigerian trio of Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi have been charged to court in Makindye on charges of negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act.”
The earlier plans of releasing them on police bond were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP. They were jointly charged with four other Ugandans. All remanded till Wednesday 16.12.2020.”

Meanwhile, Omah Lay had disclosed that the Ugandan authorities have blocked the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign affairs from interfering. And they are treating them as if they killed someone.????
MY THOUGHTS:
This is absolutely not making sense. Same Ugandan citizens violated covid-19 guidelines during their president’s campaign last two weeks and nothing was done about it. Nobody was arrested or charged to court. Are those ones above the law? Or is it because it involved the president?
Anyways, I’m not surprised, African countries and corruption are like 5&6.
What really led to Omah and Tems arrest was jealousy and envy. Why I said so?
Rapper Gravity and other Ugandan musicians like Bebe Cool Mun G, Cindy, Crysto Panda, King Saha, and Geosteady felt cheated when they discovered that Omah Lay and Tems had held a music concert in their country. You may not be familiar with the Ugandan artistes I mentioned above, they aren’t that popular or known beyond Uganda.????
So Rapper Gravity, threatened to sue President Yoweri Museveni for allowing the Nigerian artistes to perform in their country amidst the Covid-19 restrictions.
“I am gonna sue the Uganda govt about this act because it allowed this to happen when we the owners of the country are starving. I will hold a press conference very soon at Papaz Spot, Makindye, where I will announce the details,”
Because a foreigner to perform in Uganda, he must get a work permit meaning the government was involved. In all honesty and fairness, how can you allow this concert to happen when you really know that you stopped your own artistes to perform, closed all happening places in a disguise of protecting the masses from catching Covid-19.”
The moment Ugandan government saw the threat above from their local Artistes, they immediately ordered for the arrest of Omah Lay and Tems.
Okay fine they flouted Covid-19 guidelines and were arrested but why handcuffing them? They aren’t criminals neither did they commit murder.????
They are simply giving Omah and Tems more popularity in East Africa unknowingly.????
Besides, the show was advertised on Uganda media platforms. Ugandan government should have put a stop to it. They shouldn’t have allowed the show to take place. But they purposely allowed it, because Nigerian Artistes are involved, so they could ceased the opportunity to promote their dead poor useless country. #FreeOmahLay #FreeTems
It’s obvious that every other African countries hate Nigeria, due to the incompetency and negligence of our clueless leaders. Everyone wan carry us shine. Imagine small Uganda of yesterday, one of the poorest countries in the world. Chai naija we don suffer.????
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice
everywhere. Don’t say “E No Concern Me”. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. Omah Lay and Tems did nothing wrong. They are just Artistes tryna entertain, they knew nothing about Ugandan Covid-19 guidelines. The show organizers should be held responsible instead.
Please guys, let’s trend the hashtag #FreeOmahLay #FreeTems biko. Those of you on Twitter, Facebook, bloggers, let’s do this. Waiting for Nigerian government to intervene, is a waste of time. -NAIJALOADED
