They were protesting a hike in the pump price of petrol.
Four journalists were arrested including Galaxy’s Daniel Tanimu, Sahara reporters, premium times and Punch news correspondent.
Protesters comprising members of the Socialist Party of Nigeria and other civil societies marching against the increase in the pump price of petrol were arrested by men of the Nigerian police force Area C, Ojuelegba Lagos.
The protesters who were bearing placards of various inscriptions started their match from the Nigeria Labour Congress House Yaba Lagos.
They matched peacefully towards sharing leaflets containing their demands until they were rounded off by policemen at Ojuelegba.
About 18 protesters including four journalists were manhandled and subsequently arrested by the police.
They were taken to the Area C police station before being transferred to Police Headquarters in Ikeja Lagos.
As at the time of filing this report, the journalists and other protesters are still being held and their camera’s seized.
