University Of Ibadan College Of Medicine Provost And Deputy Provost Test Positive For Coronavirus

The provost and deputy provost of the University of Ibadan’s College of Medicine, Professors Oluwabunmi Olapade-Olaopa and Obafunke Denloye have both tested positive for COVID-19.

This was confirmed in a Whatsapp group message Prof Olapade-Olaopa sent out on Sunday morning.

The message read:-

“Dear colleagues, I wish to inform you that the deputy provost and I tested positive for the COVID-19 following the tests done on Friday.

“Although we are both asymptomatic, we have gone into self-isolation for the 14 days while our contacts are being observed closely to determine if they should also be tested.”

The University’s management also confirmed the development in a tweet.

The tweet reads:-

This is coming after the Medical Director of the University College Hospital Ibadan, Prof Jesse A. Otegbayo confirmed that he also tested positive for coronavirus.
