Twitter was suspended in Nigeria because they deleted a genocidal post by the Nigerian President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday.
Right now, Nigerians had resorted to Virtual Private Network (VPN), to bypass the ban on Twitter. Even those who knows nothing about the internet are eager to know now. THERE’S PROBLEM.
WHAT IS VPN?
Virtual Private Network” extends a private network across a public network and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network.
A virtual private network (VPN) gives you online privacy and ANONYMITY by creating a private network from a public internet connection. Most important, VPN services establish secure and encrypted connections to provide greater privacy than even a secured Wi-Fi hotspot.
Someone in Nigeria can access Twitter by changing his or her IP address to either US, UK, CANADA or other foreign countries IPS. And that’s where the problem is.
I wish I could elaborate more on this, but unfortunately, ain’t gonna do that for some reasons. Some people might possibly not think towards this direction, so I’d rather not go further.
