It is the end of the road for a suspected cultist after he was brutally beaten to death by a rival cult group.

A young man said to be a cultist has paid with his life in the ongoing cult war between Black Axe, popularly called Aiye, and their Eiye rivals in Benin city, Edo state.

It was gathered that the gang war has claimed over ten lives in the last few days

On Monday night, John Terry (a suspected Eiye cultist) said to be an undergraduate was killed along Upper Uwa Street off M.M Way BΓ©nin City.

The deceased was engaged as polling agent to one of the political parties in rescheduled February 16th general elections.

Eyewitnesses said Terry was beaten to death with rods and sticks by his assailants.

A security source said the renewed killings since last Saturday are linked to the money released by political parties for the now postponed general elections.
