A statement by Mr Muhammad Bello, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations, said the decision was in compliance to the guidelines of the closure of the State’s borders and protocols of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
According to him, the suspect was being tested in Abuja because he had contact with an index case.
He said following information that one of them had just returned from Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UAE) and has contracted the virus, security agencies have been directed to turn back the suspect’s family members.
“I spoke with him on the telephone twice pleading that he should not come to the state. But he told me that he has a pass to come.
“I have therefore directed the security operatives to be vigilant and arrest him and return him to Abuja immediately,”
The Governor said.
Tambuwal, therefore, appealed to Islamic scholars and other stakeholders in the State to prevail on the suspect and his family to stay away from the State in the interest of the residents.
