Former Nigerian football star, Kanu Nwankwo has predicted wins for his former clubs: Arsenal and Ajax, against Napoli and Juventus in the Champions League and Europa League last eight respectively.

Kanu, a former captain of the Super Eagles, also rubbished claims of rift with his former teammate, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha.

The two-time African Footballer of the Year, said that Ajax and Arsenal will be hard nuts to crack for the quarterfinals of the competitions.

Heading into the clash against Juventus, the Ajax are not considered by many football faithful as favourites to progress.

But Kanu told Brilla FM,

“If Ajax play like they did against Real Madrid, it won’t be easy for Juventus so let’s cross our fingers and see what is going to come out from there.

”Ajax were unbelievable against Real Madrid.”

Kanu won the UEFA Champions League with Ajax.

On Arsenal, the former West Brom star added, “We (Arsenal) are fighting for fourth place in the league and if we win the Europa League, great. With due respect to Napoli, Arsenal will give them a strong game.”

The Olympic gold medalist went on to debunk rumours of a misunderstanding with Okocha, saying, “I don’t have a problem with Jay Jay. He’s my ‘senior brother’. We speak the same language, eat, drink and play together.

“Our families have good relationship and when I say we’re brothers, we are more than brothers; so people should not peddle such rumours.”
