SENSE OR NONSENSE? UK Magazine, GQ Referred To Zlatan As An “UPCOMING ARTISTE” In A New Publication About Burna Boy (See Details)

As many Afrobeat lovers are eager and yearning to have a quick read of the Burna Boy’s GQ Magazine edition – There’s this shocker about Zlatan in it.

However, many people might read through that line where the ZANKU crooner, Zlatan was been referred to as an “UPCOMING ARTISTE” and they won’t have any thought, but my own inner reflex thought sparked almost immediately on seeing it.

The writer was given accolades to the whole featured artistes on the Burna Boy’s “African Giant” album when he splits all acts under 3 umbrellas namely; “The Up & Comers” where Zlatan was homed alongside Manifest from Ghana.

Hitherto, I’m still trying to figure out the yardsticks for the classifications, though if it’s to be by the years of relevancy, then we can fight less about where Zlatan was categorized, cause he fits in there perfectly well.

We have the “Legend” category as well, where the Grammy Winner, Kidjo was placed and then we have the “Current Hitmakers” class – This is where many expect ZANKU to be categorized.

See what GQ Magainze below:-

The album’s collaborations are numerous and perfectly reflect both the depth and the immense breadth of black musical expression.

Up-and-comers (Nigeria’s Zlatan, Ghana’s M.anifest), legends (Kidjo and Damian Marley), and current hitmakers (YG, Future, Jeremih) are all welcomed.

As Pitchfork observed in one of the album’s many rave reviews, “Tracing all blackness back to the wellspring is the crux of Burna Boy’s new album.”

So Guys ????

Is Zlatan Still Truly An Upcoming Artiste?

Let’s hear from you
