The United States Embassy in Nigeria has denied reports that the United States government has placed a ban on Student Visa for Nigerian students until further notice.

The Embassy was reacting to a report that has since gone viral that the US had placed a ban on student visa.

In a short statement released this morning via its official Facebook page, the Embassy wrote:

“#FakeNews Alert! Be advised, reports of Student Visa ban for Nigerians is false. If you have seen such manufactured item on Facebook and Twitter or received it via WhatsApp, please communicate that it is false.”
