Sources recall that over 100 buildings were in the early hours of Saturday destroyed following an explosion that rocked Ondo State.
The explosion occurred around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
A terrifying loud bang was heard when everyone was already asleep, according to residents of the area.
Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode claimed that the South-West is being targeted, adding that he hoped at the end of it all, there will still be someone left standing to defend the region.
“First it was Ekiti, then Abule Ado in Lagos and now Akure,” Fani-Kayode tweeted.
“If we like, we should keep kidding ourselves, saying that these are not bombs and that we are not being targeted.
“Let’s hope that by the end of it all, there will still be someone left standing to defend the South-West,” he said.
Meanwhile, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had while confirming the development said security chiefs had briefed him, and efforts were being made to ascertain if there are casualties.
