Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has berated President Buhari for making a joke about the IGP's weight.

The president said the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu's weight loss is a sign that he's been working to tackle the security challenges across the nation.

President Buhari returned to Nigeria yesterday May 5th after his 10-day visit to the UK. While fielding questions from journalist shortly after his arrival, President Buhari was asked what his administartion is doing to tackle insecurity in the Nation. Responding, President Buhari said

''“I just saw the IG, I think he is loosing weight. So I think he is working very hard".

Ezekwesili found President Buhari's comment distasteful and took to her twitter handle to react. She wrote

''And this is supposed to be funny? A President @MBuhari making a joke of the daily drenching of the country in the blood of his citizens who are killed daily without ANY consequence while he bears the title “Commander-in-Chief” ? Carry on. Someday the Citizens will be ready.
