It was about the time when hopes for entertainment started going dim all over the world by the effect of COVID-19 lockdown, rather our musicians did the most to give the most entertaining playlist full of hits.
One would think the whole power rests with the singers we’ve been familiar with but Omah Lay more like appeared out of the blue to thrill us to his sensation.
Not only was it rare that he came with a sound peculiar to him and nothing like what we’ve always danced to, but Omah Lay would also be said to be accepted right at the moment he emerged.
Hitting it big in a time of hopeless pandemic and holding it down for a year down the line is one for the books.
Omah Lay by the full name, Omah Stanley Didia is a Port Harcourt born and raised talent whose story shares a typical semblance with some household names who came from his region to venture into music in Lagos.
Even though he still has miles ahead to thread in his musical journey, Omah Lay is on the path of garnering a rich discography with the two E.P projects he has out in stores.
The quality of his sound equates to his level of acceptance and expectation as it’s been with his kindred also from the South-South side, Burna Boy.
His recent award recognition as the Headies Next Rated amongst other award nominations marks him for more feat in the industry.
The ‘Bad Influence’ singer shows himself outstanding by all means given to him even on collaborations, and that’s what we are here to talk about.
Drag a seat!
If there’s anything that makes Omah Lay distinct, it is his mild tempo that still finds its way to pull hard on a song.
How does a person sounds so soft yet kills hit songs, have you thought about that?
Bear in mind that all his songs that are making us trip happen to be really mild tone tracks you wouldn’t imagine had that much effect.
That was the same thing that happened on ‘Infinity’ off ‘Carpe Diem’ album. Olamide himself is a hardcore rapper, all he needed to make the track perfect was the mildness from Omah Lay’s melody.
Omah Lay rising up to a legendary melody status with Wizkid, Adekunle Gold and DJ Tunes on the track ‘Pami’ is also a marker of growth in his craft and he did not perform less.
This track is the latest reason why Omah Lay has got us dancing. His performance on this collaboration goes on to prepare us for any other dope singer we will spot them together cooking up in the studio.
