The Bulgarian believes Ronaldo, who turned 35 earlier this week, can play till 40.
Berbatov, a former teammate with the Portuguese captain during their time at Man United, was quoted by Daily Star as saying: “Cristiano Ronaldo, my former teammate, turned 35 earlier this week and he is still on fire.
“The Portugal star has over 30 goals for Juventus in all competitions this term.
“Ronaldo is extraordinary and he has stated that he wants to play this game when he is 40 and that I believe he can achieve.
“Ryan Giggs did it and it pleases me to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 35, doing great also.
“Recently I told myself if I had retired too early from football.
“But Ronaldo must listen to his body in order to know when to retire from football.”
