1. Unuyi salt flat, Bolivia



Unuyi salt flat also refers to as salar de unuyi is found in southwest Bolivia, in Potosí. It is the largest salt flat in the world and one of the heavens on earth places. It covers an area of 7,456 square miles (12,582 square kilometers).



That is a size little smaller than the size of Gambia or Jamaica. It is a plateau with a height of 3656 meters (11, 995 feet) above sea level in the Andes mountain.



The salt originates from massive lakes that dried up. The massive lakes were there thousands of years ago. When the lakes dried up, the salt emerges. The enormous size of the salt flat can be seen from space.


During the wet season, from the month of December to May, the salt is a mirror. it is the world's largest mirror. It reflects the sky, it is like the sky is upside down. While during the dry season, the place is like a whitish desert in which hexagonal and pentagonal structures are formed on the flat. That is between the month of June to November. In both seasons, you will have a different beautiful experience.


The layer of the salt in some area of the flat is just a millimeter thick while in some areas, 2 meters (6.6 feet) thick. There are over 10 billion tons of salt in the flat, only 25 thousand tons or less are extracted yearly.



Beneath the salt lies lithium. Unuyi salt flat is known to contain 50-70% of the world's lithium. Most of today's batteries find their lithium from Bolivia.


Another beautiful sight of Unuyi salt flat is during winter nights or during the wet season with a clear sky. You can stargaze, because the sky will be clear, with beautiful twinkling stars reflected on the surface of the salt flat. [1]



2. Rainbow mountains, China 


Many people that have been to Zhangye Danxia landform geological park area, in China are often amazed. Just like the rainbow, the mountain cliff is colored with blue, green, yellow, white, black, and red being their intense color. People, including many artists, are astonished by the unbelievable colorful mountains done by the masterpiece. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth.


It is like the mountain is covered with beautiful clothing or like an oil painting. The mountains are named after a Zhangye city, which is very close to the mountain, in the province of Gansu. It is also known as Zhangye Danxia wonders. In 2009, it was named as UNESCO World Heritage site and these mountains have attracted so many international tourists. 


The mountains are made up of sandstone and silt stones that contains iron and other minerals in small proportion. This gives it the characteristics color we see. Erosion and weathering cause the exposure of the underlying formation. Thereby removing the overlying formation of the rock. With different mineralogy and chemistry resulting from erosion and weathering, this causes variations in its color. 


The primary color of the mountains which is red occurred due to iron in the mountain that gets oxidized. Just like a rusted iron gives red coloration. Yellow stains of sandstone are characteristic of oxidized limonite which gives it a yellow color. When different minerals get oxidized, reacting with other elements, these give it different striking coloration. [2] It is amazing to see how organized the color palettes are.



3. Matira Beach, Bora Bora


Matira beach along Bora Bora southern tip is a beach that is 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) long. Matira beach is such a fascinating place that often refers to as the world’s best beach. Glacier Bay National park is a UNESCO World Heritage site, since 1980. It spans an area of over 3,000,000 acres. Due to the way the glacier ice is packed and the sunlight hit it. the glacier bay most times look blue.

Many people believed that the Canyon was first discovered by a girl from the Navajo tribe in the 1800s. while herding livestock at Arizona, on the way, she rambles through the crack sandstone. Later, some men from the Navajo tribe take refuge at Canyon.

Northern light also called the aurora borealis literally means northern dawn wind. It is a marvelous phenomenon that is worth seeing at night, it will leave you in awe. The aurora borealis occurs in an area of high latitude. It appears around 90 to 130 km (56-81 mile) above the earth. Though northern light is always there, it is only visible in the dark.

The light occurs because charged particles from sun rays react with the earth's magnetic fields. Earth's magnetic poles centers are the sight of aurora and sometimes in the southern areas. Since near the pole, earth's magnetic field lines come and go into it. Electrons go across magnetic fields, making aurora borealis to be visible in elevation latitude areas.



For these reasons, the northern light is popularly seen in Scandinavia. It can also be observed in the northern coast of Siberia Murmansk Oblast, Russia; Tromsø, Norway; Gillam, Manitoba, Canada; Mt. Kirkjufell, Iceland; Fairbanks, Alaska and Dawson City, Yukon. All these region are heavenly places on earth.


The light sometimes can be seen in spiral motions because the light is made up of charged particles. Electrons in one direction and protons in the other directions along magnetic field lines. The terrace was created by Northern Vietnam’s local hill tribes centuries ago. This heaven on earth places was created mainly to survive.
