Lionel Messi turns 33 today, 24 June, 2020.
He is regarded by many as the best player in the world, and Messi has been the kingpin for Barcelona for many years now.
Lionel Messi was born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina and like many others paid the price to become a star.
At the precarious age of 10, his future as a professional player was threatened as he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency.
Despite being young, Barcelona took the gamble of signing him and the rest was history.
