Sorry to say, religion is a parasite to Nigeria as a country. Both Islam and Christian religion have gained more from the country and offered no positive impact in return.
In Nigeria, we have the richest of all pastors, Churches and Mosques are rich enough to establish schools, but the less privileged in the church can’t attend the schools because they are expensive. SO SAD!!
I have a friend wey carry Winners Chapel for head like World Cup, but him papa no fit attend Landmark University nor Covenant.. Na Gateway Polytechnic Igbesa my guy dey go
E no make sense!! Religion cannot even contribute meaningfully to the educational sector, those schools religious institution established are just another avenue to make money and not serve God.
Why can’t we have a church or a mosque own a school with subsidized fees?
I have not heard of any church or mosque built healthcare center or clinic in Nigeria that offers free medical services to people despite the money these religious bodies are cashing out on a daily.
Some churches are even stingy with prayers oo, you won’t believe it.
Anybody that attends winners very well will testify to the fact that many of their prayer points are about the growth of the church, only few prayer points for the church members themselves. Na wa ooo!!
During election, the church and religious leaders are supposed to play non-partisan role and also sensitize people about voting process.
Nowadays, what they do is collect money from corrupt politicians and influence members choice of vote through deceptive prophecies.
From my own standpoint, I feel like this religion thing is a scam in Nigeria with 0.0000000 positive impact.
