Sani warned that it was too early and dangerous to reopen schools across the country.
In a tweet, the former lawmaker pointed out that no one will be psychologically at peace when their children resume school at a time like this.
He wrote:
“It’s too early and dangerous to contemplate reopening schools, particularly primary and secondary schools at this material time.
“No parent will psychologically be at peace to let their children out at times like this. We can make up for the loss of time, not life.”
The Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, had last week, disclosed that the Federal Government was already making efforts to reopen schools across the country.
He said that contrary to speculations, reopening of schools won’t happen within the next two weeks.
