SuperSport pundit and former Everton defender, Joseph Yobo has blamed Barcelona striker, Luis Suarez following Barca’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final second leg encounter at Anfield on Tuesday.
Liverpool lost 3-0 to Barcelona last week at the Nou Camp but produced an incredible performance to beat Ernesto Valverde’s men 4-0 on Tuesday night and qualify for the final of the Champions League.
Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum both scored twice, as Jurgen Klopp’s side made it into their second successive final in the Champions League.
But Yobo has now blamed Suarez, a former Liverpool player, for his lackluster performance against the Reds, adding that the Uruguay international did not make any ‘good runs’ during the match.
“For me, Luis Suarez did not make any good runs in today’s match,” Yobo told SuperSport in his post-match analysis.
“I’m a bit disappointed in him. Because for a player of his quality, if Messi is not getting the goals, Suarez should have scored”.
Meanwhile, speaking to Spanish reporters after the game, Luis Suarez said:
“I think we have to do a lot of self-criticisms, we are adults, we have many years in this category.
“We must reproach ourselves for things that we have done wrong, like thinking that everything was liquidated.
“We should not blame the coach, we are the players who play.
“I do not know if it’s a matter of attitude, but we’re in Barcelona, we cannot get two goals in a row. The fourth is a goal by kids.”
