Burna Boy’s Grammy Award-Winning Album “Twice As Tall” Hits Another Milestone (SEE DETAILS)

Burna Boy’s fifth studio album, “Twice As Tall” which was released less than a year ago has now hit another milestone, as Burna sets another music industry record.

The album, which won a Grammy for Best Global Album earlier this year, has just surpassed 100 million streams on music streaming platform, Spotify.

This is a very important milestone for Burna Boy, as he sets another record as the only 2020 album with over 100 million streams on the platform. The “Onyeka” singer has also become the first Nigerian artist to have three albums cross 100 million on Spotify.

Of course, this is a testament to his much talked about foreign appeal as Spotify wasn’t available in Nigeria up until a month ago. That is, most of the streams came from his fans abroad.

On the home front also, Burna is obviously doing well. Just last week he became the first artist on Boomplay to have a cumulative 100 million streams. On AudioMack, his album is one of the most streamed ever.

Recall that Burna Boy got his first Grammy nod in 2019 with Best World Album nomination for “African Giant,” arguably his best album ever.

After failing to win, however, the maestro then went back in the studio to record another album so he could try again the next year. And, as we all know, he made us all proud.

The only 2020 project that’s close to Burna Boy’s on the platform is Wizkid‘s ground shattering “Made in Lagos” which has about 93 million streams.

It might actually be only a matter of time before WizKid surpasses Burna Boy on the platform, but until then, Burna gets to celebrate this milestone!

Now, let’s hear from you all.
