With each of them achieving several feats, smashing several records, and winning multiple awards, the debate among the fans remains which of the trio is actually the best.
A few days ago, the Grammy award winner, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly referred to as Burna Boy amassed yet another record as he became the first artiste to hit 100 million streams on the popular streaming platform, Boomplay.
This is coming after the singer won big in the Best World Album category for his fifth studio album, “Twice As Tall” becoming the first artiste to get this (this remains arguable among some sects though)
The self-acclaimed African Giant who dropped his first album in 2013 has grown into one of the biggest if not the biggest in the industry.
It’s almost a decade since the self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ launched into the music scene and ever since been dropping hits back to back.
The “Ye” crooner’s African Giant album currently holds a record of 29 Million streams on Boomplay while the Grammy-award-winning album and his fifth studio album, ‘Twice as Tall’ has amassed Over 46 Million streams on Boomplay, making it the most-streamed album on Boomplay Music.
The singer currently has over 101 Million streams on Boomplay and he is followed closely by Fireboy who has close to 85 million and Olamide with over 69 Million streams on the all-time Boomplay charts.
Others include Omah Lay with over 60 Million, Naira Marley and Joeboy with over 50 Million, and Kizz Daniel with over 46 Million streams.
Meanwhile, Wizkid has just a little over 45 Million streams on the platform while Davido has over 64 Million.
While a single streaming platform might not be enough to make conclusions, but this is surely another win for Burna Boy against Wizkid and Davido.
Despite this new achievement, I know some people are still doubting the fact that Burna Boy is the true Odogwu of Nigeria’s music industry.
Let’s hear from you
