Last year, the likes of Rema, Fireboy and Joeboy emerged out of obscurity to become prominent hit makers on the scene.

2020 has presented us with a fresh injection of talents. Talents that are blossoming into regular hit makers.

We’ve had Jamopyper becoming a beast on features, Omah Lay turning to a playlist god, Oxlade gathering a legion with his lovey-dovey tunes and Tems fleshing into a superstar.

But which rising talent has made an impression on you?

1. Jamopyper

A force to reckon with this year with his catchy hooks on songs he’s featured in.

If you thought Of Lala was a fluke, his input on Shomo changed your mind.

Let’s not forget his new jam with Mayorkun, If No Be You has the features of a hit song.

2. Omah Lay

King of the quarantine period with his EP, Get Layd.

Slowly, he’s becoming an authority as he’s been featured on a Wizkid record and there’s a collaboration with Olamide on the way.

Songs like You, Bad Influence are heavy hits.

3. Oxlade

We were introduced to Oxlade last year with his sweet, melodic music and his ability to excel on collaborations.

He’s stabilized that ability already. His EP, Oxygene is perhaps one of the best projects this year.

Away and the intro, O2 are wonderful songs.

4. Tems

Tems has the markings of a superstar. The way she sings, her vocal texture, her exceptional songwriting and she just has this aura that has intrigued fans.

While she’s been quiet this year, we can’t lie songs like Try Me and Mr Rebel haven’t made an impression.

We sure have listened to these artists and have heard the songs they’ve churned out far.
