Real Madrid are preparing a mega-money bid for Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah this summer as Zinedine Zidane looks to revamp his squad in the Spanish capital.
Zidane returned to the club as manager in March, having previously won three Champions Leagues and one La Liga title as manager at the Bernabeu.
As part of his agreement to return, the Frenchman will be handed a vast war chest this summer and he is going to try and spend some of those funds on Salah. Canal + journalist Philippe Carayon reported that we are at the point of a very first approach from Real Madrid to Liverpool over a potential deal, with a bid yet to have been made.
There is no question that Liverpool will not want to sell their star player, who has scored 70 goals in 103 appearances across all competitions since arriving from Roma.
The Egyptian has won the Premier League Golden Boot in both seasons playing for the Reds and has helped them into back-to-back Champions League finals.
The 26-year-old signed a new contract last year which runs until 2023, so Liverpool are under absolutely no pressure to sell the forward.
Real Madrid would have to put in an eye-wateringly huge bid for Liverpool to even consider letting Salah move to Spain, but Zidane is keen to make a play for the deadly African, as he eyes up a dream front three of Salah, Eden Hazard and latest signing Luka Jovic.
