Davido revealed an interesting detail on the kind of relationship he has with artistes signed to his label, DMW.

In a video a fan posted on Twitter, Davido chatted with Ubi Franklin on his journey to stardom, and during the conversation, Ubi Franklin inquired if it was true that Davido never collects money from his artists’ shows.

Davido replied in the affirmative saying he has never collected money from his artistes and producers, adding that he was funding their music career on his own whether or not they were making profits.

He said that though currently some of his artistes finance the shoot of their music videos, he was the one sponsoring their music videos before.

He also added that he considers his artists as friends outside the music and therefore doesn’t always follow the rules of his artists’ contracts. He also revealed that Mayorkun and Dremo‘s contracts expired on April 4th.
