7 Terrible Davido Songs That Shouldn’t Have Left The Studio

You can’t be perfect every time. Even with a songwriter, there are times the song won’t bang.

For everyone who creates, sometimes you can be frustrated and just go on to release that song or article just to meet demands or fulfill needs.

Davido and some other artists have been in that situation. In their mind, they have created a smash hit. But in the minds of listeners, here’s what’s happening:

1. Aza

Together with Peruzzi and the then rejuvenated Duncan Mighty, Davido put out a song whose beats were delightful but the delivery was far from being impressive.

“Oya, say your Aza, omo say your Aza” and big ups to Davido for shouting though.

2. Gbagbe Oshi

This was before Peruzzi arrived so at this time, his pen game was average. The story behind Gbagbe Oshi was General Pype selling this song to Davido and still going ahead to release his(General Pype) own version.

Regardless, it wasn’t a song that Davido could vocalize. It was too technical. The Jamaican patois especially. Perhaps the reason it didn’t “blow”.

3. Pere

Not to take away anything from Davido in 2017, he had successful singles like Fall, If.

Perhaps pressured by label heads at Sony Music, he decided to try the international waters again this time featuring Young Thug and Rae Sremmurd. Honestly, you could have chosen another song, Davido. This collaboration could have been better.

4. Flora My Flawa

You would wonder who gave this highlife song to Davido. While the English-Yoruba mix was abysmal, his vocal range fluttered too. Not so good.

5. Ekuro

I wondered why people loved this record back then. Apart from the chorus, what else do you remember from the song where Davido just goes on singing gibberish.
